Michael Foley is responsible for Franklin Templeton's U.S. Institutional business. He oversees the team responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with institutional investors and consulting firms. Prior to joining Franklin Templeton in 2021, Mr. Foley was Guggenheim Investment's Head of Institutional business for the Americas and the UK/Europe.
Previously, he was BlackRock's Head of U.S. Pensions, responsible for the firm's relationships with Public Funds and Corporate DB/DC Plans. While there, he was also the Head of Consultant Relations for the U.S. and Canada, responsible for overseeing the team that developed and maintained relationships with the institutional consultant community.
Mr. Foley was also the Head of Global AXA Business Development for Alliance Bernstein, responsible for leading all sales and marketing efforts related to the firm's multi-billion dollar strategic relationship with AXA. He held a number of other senior positions at Alliance Bernstein including Head of U.S. Financial Institutions, Head of Global Institutional Marketing for Alliance Growth Equities, and Head of U.S. Consultant Relations after beginning his career at the firm as a sell side Equity Analyst for Sanford C. Bernstein.
Mr. Foley also served as a Captain in the United States Army and in both general management and sales leadership positions at technology and media corporations. Mr. Foley earned an MBA from Harvard Business School as well as a BS degree in economics, with merit, from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
