Stan Hong is senior vice president and head of Strategic Planning and Operations for Franklin Templeton Fixed Income. In this role, he works closely with the Chief Investment Officer in overseeing and directing key operational and strategic activities and is responsible for driving completion of initiatives and strategic projects impacting the global fixed income organization. He also plays a key role in the development and implementation of long-range business goals and strategy, driving thought leadership and complex high-profile content, and oversees product strategy for Franklin Templeton Fixed Income. Mr. Hong is responsible for supporting the investment functions of Franklin Templeton's Multi-Sector, Global (including Developed and Emerging Markets), Corporate Credit, Securitized Products, Municipal Bonds, Stable Value, Local Asset Management and Short Term Liquid Markets Fixed Income teams. The platform has over $215 billion in assets under management globally.
During Mr. Hong's tenure with Franklin Templeton, he was previously director of Strategic Communications and Operations for Franklin Templeton Fixed Income and vice president and senior product manager for Franklin Templeton Fixed Income, Emerging Markets Equity and Local Asset Management strategies. He worked closely with portfolio management, representing them by articulating their investment philosophy, process, and investment strategies to a broad range of clients globally. He was also actively involved in global marketing initiatives, institutional and retail client service, new business development, and product development.
Prior to joining Franklin Templeton in 2008, Mr. Hong worked for UBS Financial Services, responsible for asset manager due diligence, risk management analysis and constructing asset allocation model portfolios. He previously also served as an officer in the United States Air Force and in the real estate industry, focused on residential and commercial development projects.
Mr. Hong earned a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and is a general securities principal and registered securities representative and investment advisor holding FINRA Series 24, 7 and 66 licenses.
