Ben Batory is a senior vice president and head of Franklin Equity Group Trading, Franklin Templeton Services, LLC, San Mateo, California.

Since joining the firm in January 2011, Ben has served on both the Fort Lauderdale and San Mateo trading desks, covering consumers, industrials, financials, and ETFs for both the Templeton Global Equity Group and the Franklin Equity Group during that time. Based out of San Mateo since 2013, he is currently responsible for oversight of Franklin Equity Group trading & LibertyQ ETF Program Trading, managing desks in San Mateo and New York. Ben is also a member of the Global Best Execution Committee and the Global Trade Oversight Committee.

Prior to joining Franklin Templeton, Ben was Head Trader for Brightpoint Capital in Miami, Florida, where he traded global equities, foreign currency, and derivative instruments including futures, swaps and options. Prior to Brightpoint, he spent four years trading global equities and derivatives for Rockbay Capital, an event-driven hedge fund in New York. Before Rockbay, Ben was an equity trader with investment manager Gilder, Gagnon, Howe & Co. in New York. Previously, he traded equities for JLF Asset Management in New York, a hedge fund specializing in the retail and financial sectors.

Ben earned a B.A. in political science from Amherst College, and is also a former professional athlete.
