Javier Villegas

Javier Villegas is the Head of Latam & Iberia Head at Franklin Templeton, overseeing 15 countries: US Off-shore, Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Peru, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, and Andorra. In this role, Javier provides business leadership and supervises both the wealth and institutional distribution strategies, ensuring the organization’s continued success in these key markets.

Javier has had a distinguished career at Franklin Templeton spanning over two decades. From 2018 to 2024, he served as the Head of Iberia. Prior to this role, he was based in Miami as the Director of the Global Financials Institutions Group across all international markets (2013-2018). He joined Franklin Templeton in 2005 as a Key Account Manager responsible for business development in Iberia.

Javier has over 25 years of experience in the investment management industry. Prior to joining Franklin Templeton, he worked in Santander Private Banking and A&G

Javier is a graduate of the Senior Management Program (PDD) at IESE (Spain), earned a Master’s Degree in Finance and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from CUNEF University (Madrid), and qualified as a European Financial Advisor. Javier also holds the FINRA Series 7 and holds 63 licenses (domestic and international).
